The LPG production unit of the Fajr-e Jam gas refinery in southern Iran, has come on stream with a projected daily output of 150 tons, the Tasnim News Agency reported.

The project started in 2005 aiming to produce 200 tons of LPG. Early production had already started in the unit, so it is currently producing 50 tons of LPG per day. The site is scheduled to be officially inaugurated next month. It will also produce 80 tons of gas condensates per day.

In May, the Mehr News Agency quoted Deputy Oil Minister Alireza Zeighami as saying that Iran is currently exporting 20 million litres of oil products per day.

He also said the crude oil refining capacity has increased to 1.8 million barrels per day.

Strategic reserves of gasoline and diesel fuel will be increased by 1.3 billion litres in the current year, he noted.

Iran exported more than one million tons of oil products in the past Iranian calendar year which ended on March 20, the Mehr News Agency reported.

Over one million tons of diesel fuel, kerosene, furnace oil and naphtha were exported to different countries, mainly the Persian Gulf States, and Southeast Asia.
