Around 10.39 billion kilowatt / hours of electricity were generated in Azerbaijan in the first half of 2013, which is 2.6 percent less than in the same period of last year, the State Statistics Committee told Trend on Monday.
According to the committee, around 9.58 billion kilowatt / hours of the total volume of electricity generated in January-June fall to the thermal power plants or 1.3 percent more than in the first half of 2012.
The hydroelectric power plants generated 815.1 million kilowatt / hours of electricity in the first half of the year or 32.8 percent less than in January-June 2012.
