Minister: Libya interested in Turkish investments

Libyan Energy Minister Ali Mohammed Muhayrik called on the Turkish investors to invest in the country's energy sector, Sabah newspaper reported on Nov.18.

According to the minister, Turkey has a great experience in the energy sphere that can contribute to the development of this sector in Libya.

Muhayrik stressed that Libya has significant oil reserves but the country is also interested in the development of other energy sectors.

According to the Libyan Energy Minister, Libya is interested in the development of solar and wind energy in the country and the Turkish business people can invest in this sector.

Muhayrik stressed that currently, three Turkish companies operate in Libya. These companies have invested totally $3 billion in the country's electricity sector.

"Currently Turkey and Libya are holding negotiations on laying of underground cable power transmission lines in Libyan cities.
