Over 207 million barrels of oil transported via BTC through Turkey for 10 months

Around 207.2 million barrels of oil were transported in January-October 2013 via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline through Turkey compared to 211.13 million barrels in January-October 2012, Turkish State Pipeline Company Botas said today.

In total, some 250.34 million barrels of oil were transported in 2012 via the BTC pipeline through Turkey compared to 257.15 million barrels in 2011.

The total length of the BTC pipeline is 1768 kilometres, some 443 kilometres of which runs through Azerbaijan, 249 kilometres through Georgia and 1076 kilometres through Turkey.

Construction of the pipeline started in April 2003 and began flowing with oil on May 18, 2005.

Stockholders of BTC Co, established on August 1, 2002 are: BP (30.1 per cent), AzBTC (25 per cent), Chevron (8.9 per cent), Statoil (8.71 per cent), ТРАО (6.53 per cent), Eni (5 per cent), Total (5 per cent), Itochu (3.40 per cent), Inpex (2.5 per cent), ConocoPhillips (2.50 per cent) and ONGC (2.36 per cent).

Some 74.65 million barrels of oil were transported in January-October via the Iraq-Turkey pipeline through Turkey compared to 123.41 million barrels in the same period of 2012. In total, nearly 145.63 million barrels of oil were transported in 2012 via the Iraq-Turkey pipeline through Turkey compared to 147.2 million barrels in the same period of 2012.

Some 20.09 million barrels of oil were transported in January-October via the Ceyhan-Kirikkale pipeline through Turkey's compared to 18.24 million barrels in January-October 2012.

Some 9.56 million barrels of oil were transported in January-October via the Batman-Dordyol pipeline compared to 9.28 million barrels in January-October 2012.
