Baku, Azerbaijan, Jan. 22

By Emil Ismayilov - Trend:

The daily volume of gas supplied to the population of Azerbaijan amounted to 26.2 million cubic meters as of Jan.22, 2014 compared to 28 million cubic meters (as of Dec. 16), Azerigaz Production Association of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) told Trend on Jan.22.

The production association is engaged in distribution and sale of gas to consumers in the territory of Azerbaijan.

Currently, the weather conditions in the country are favorable which explains the slight decrease of gas consumption volume, the production association said.

Some 15.3 million cubic meters of the total volume of daily gas consumption in the country fell to Baku compared to 17 million cubic meters as of Dec.16, according to the source.
"Currently, around 10.9 million cubic meters of gas per day fall to the country's regions," the production association said.

Azerigaz said that the consumers are provided with necessary volume of gas and there is no problem in supply of blue fuel to the population.

Azerigaz Production Association sold over 2.2 billion cubic meters of gas to the population in 2013. The number of subscribers of Azerbaijan's gas operator amounted to 1,647,906 as of Jan.1, 2014. Some 1,628,076 of the total number of subscribers were residential and 19,830 subscribers were from other categories.
