SOCAR increases oil production from its own fields

SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) produced 715,400 tons of oil from onshore and offshore fields of the country in January, 2014 compared to 709,200 tons of oil in January, 2013, the company reported on March 3.

SOCAR develops the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli (ACG) block of oil and gas fields and the Shah Deniz gas and condensate field jointly with foreign partners.

In total SOCAR produced more than 8.31 million tons of oil in 2013 compared to 8.24 million tons in 2012.

Nearly 3.64 million tons of oil was produced in January in Azerbaijan, compared to 3.79 million tons in January last year.

Totally 43.48 million tons of oil was produced in Azerbaijan in 2013 compared to 43 million tons in 2012.

SOCAR includes production association Azneft (companies producing oil and gas on land and sea), production association Azerkimya (chemical industry), production association Azerigas (gas distribution).

In addition, the state energy company has a number of processing and service enterprises as well as institutions involved in geophysical and drilling activities.
