Turkmenistan considers joint venture creation in oil and gas construction field

Turkmen President Gurbangulu Berdimuhamedov, following the hearing the meeting of the report of the Turkmennebitgazgurlushyk state concern (Turkmenneftegazstroy) at a special meeting, entrusted to consider creation of the joint ventures in the said sphere.

"In this regard, it is necessary to study the creation of joint ventures in the case, if it will be needed for the construction of production facilities and the introduction of high technology in these facilities," Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper quoted the Turkmen president as saying.

The article said that, the head of state also stressed that "in the case of necessity, it will be expedient to involve leading, experienced and credible international companies of the world", in order to bring the quality of work up to international standards.

The leadership of the state concern reported about the efforts to establish production facilities and the opening of enterprises in order to increase the production of construction materials, pipe products, according to the newspaper.

The growth rate of general contractor works of the state concern amounted to 111.1 percent in January-March 2014 compared with the same period last year.

The units of the state concern are engaged in construction of oil and gas pipelines, and the improvement of oil and gas fields; reconstruction of refining facilities; construction of steel and concrete tanks.

State Concern has its own industrial base of construction industry, which includes facilities for producing ready-mixed concrete, asphalt concrete, precast concrete, metal, wood products and structures, local construction materials.

Turkmennebitgazgurlushyk realized the construction of an additional Turkmenistan-Iran pipeline in due time with the length of 30.5 kilometers and contributed to the construction of the Turkmenistan-Uzbekistan-Kazakhstan-China pipeline.

At this stage, the state concern together with Turkmengaz State Concern is carrying out a project for the construction of the longest highway in the country at its own expense - "East-West", which originates from the Shatlyk gas compressor station in Mary velayat (region).

This pipeline length of about 800 kilometers will connect all the local gas networks into a single circle, and create a secure and stable system of Turkmen energy resources to international markets.

As part of the projec,t eight compressor stations will be built. The commissioning of the pipeline is scheduled for 2015.
