The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) intends to expand the filling stations' network in Azerbaijan, Suleyman Gasimov, SOCAR Vice-President for Economic Affairs told journalists on April 23.
A joint enterprise, which includes SOCAR's Azerigas production association and Maye Gas JSC, is currently being formed with this aim, according to Gasimov.
"Preparation work is currently underway," SOCAR vice-president said.
Gasimov said SOCAR has the practice of selling liquefied gas at filling stations in Georgia and this process is cost-effective.
The use of liquefied gas in urban areas is economically beneficial for consumers as well.
Currently, SOCAR is engaged in the retail sale of petroleum products through its filling stations in Azerbaijan, Georgia, Ukraine, Romania and Switzerland.
