Azerbaijan within the framework of the "Azerbaijan-Georgia-Turkey" energy bridge can export up to 700 megawatts of electricity in 2015, the Azerbaijani Energy Minister Natig Aliyev told journalists.

Upon reaching an agreement within the framework of the "Azerbaijan-Georgia-Turkey" energy bridge Azerbaijan can export about 350 megawatts of electricity this year, he said.

As Aliyev noted, more work has been done towards the development of the electricity sector, but $4 billion will be required to achieve the indicator of the developed countries of Europe, which should be aimed at increasing the generation capacity to 10,000 megawatts from the present about 7,100 megawatts.

Total annual export capacity of the country is about 7-8 billion kilowatt hours of electricity.
