Georgia imported 620,590 tons of the oil equivalent of natural gas in the amount of $124.35 million from Azerbaijan in January-April 2014, according to the Georgian National Statistic Service's report.
Azerbaijan is the main supplier of this type of fuel to Georgia with a share of 83.68 percent of the country's total import volume in this category. Georgia has imported natural gas in the amount of $148.61 million since early 2014, according to the report.
The remainder of the gas supply falls to Russia and other sources.
In annual terms, the volume of the Georgian natural gas imports from Azerbaijan increased by 28.65 percent (in quantitative terms - 104,730 tons of oil equivalent).
For comparison, Georgia imported 515,860 tons of gas worth $96.66 million from Azerbaijan in January-April last year.
The share of gas in a total import volume from Azerbaijan to Georgia for the reporting period amounted to 61.1 percent.
Georgia imported products amounting to $203.53 million from Azerbaijan in January-April 2014. For the period, the volume of imports from Azerbaijan to Georgia for the period increased by 7.94 percent.
