Baku, Azerbaijan, June 4

Azerbaijan's State Oil Company (SOCAR) intends to get first volumes of gas from the deep layers of the Bulla Deniz field, SOCAR President Rovnag Abdullayev told reporters on June 4.
Abdullayev said a new platform was installed at the field within just four months.
The platform is designed for drilling three wells at a depth of over 6,000 meters.
"The first well's drilling has already begun, and late this year we will get the first volumes of gas from the field's deep layers," Abdullayev said.
SOCAR head said the gas reserves in the field's deep layers amount to about 20 billion cubic meters.
State Oil Company built the new platform at the Bulla Deniz field in the zone where the old one was located. Earlier, a fire occurred at the old platform due to an accident. The fire on the old platform was extinguished, and on October 25, 2013 the platform was connected to the gas transmission system.
Given the reserves of the new block, a new platform was built in the field, where the well had a very large debit.
