Oil transportation increases by over 8 percent via BTC through Turkey

Around 88.65 million barrels of oil were transported in January-April 2014, via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline through Turkey compared to 81.87 million barrels in January-April 2013, the Turkish State Pipeline Company Botas reported.

In total, 249.62 million barrels of oil were transported via BTC through Turkey in 2013 compared to 250.34 million barrels in 2012.

The total length of the BTC pipeline is 1768 kilometers, some 443 kilometers of which runs through Azerbaijan, 249 kilometers through Georgia and 1076 kilometers through Turkey.

Construction of the pipeline started in April 2003 and began flowing with oil on May 18, 2005.
Stockholders of BTC Co. established on August 1, 2002, are: BP (30.1 percent), AzBTC (25 percent), Chevron (8.9 percent), Statoil (8.71 percent), ТРАО (6.53 percent), Eni (5 percent), Total (5 percent), Itochu (3.40 percent), Inpex (2.5 percent), ConocoPhillips (2.50 percent) and ONGC (2.36 percent).

About 15 million barrels of oil were transported in January-April via the Iraq-Turkey pipeline through Turkey compared to 34.47 million barrels in January-April 2013.

Some 91.88 million barrels were transported via the pipeline in 2013 compared to 145.63 million barrels in 2012.

About 7.8 million barrels of oil were transported via the Ceyhan-Kirikkale pipeline through Turkey's territory in January-April compared to 6.22 million barrels in January-April 2013. In total, 23.74 million barrels of oil were transported via the Ceyhan-Kirikkale pipeline in 2013 compared to 21.96 million barrels in 2012.

Some 4.2 million barrels of oil were transported in January-April via the Batman-Dordyol pipeline compared to 3.85 million barrels in January-April 2013.

Some 11.57 million barrels of oil were transported via the Batman-Dordyol pipeline in 2013 compared to 11.25 million barrels of oil in 2012.
