SOCAR Complex Drilling Works Trust plans to carry out drilling operations in the volume of 110,000 meters in 2015 compared to 111,000 meters in the same period of 2014, SOCAR told Trend Jan. 8.
"The volume of SOCAR Trust's drilling work is expected to hit 110,000 meters in 2015, which is slightly less than in 2014," a statement says. "But these are only the predicted indices."
SOCAR will continue drilling in all fields developed by the company independently in 2015, the statement says.
Besides the Trust, other contracting companies conduct drilling operations for SOCAR. Among these companies are SOCAR AQŞ, established in 2007 by SOCAR and Absheron Drilling as a joint venture.
In 2014, SOCAR carried out drilling work (excluding joint ventures and operating companies) in the volume of 127, 346 meters compared to 142, 656 meters in 2013. Some 124,718 meters out of the total drilling work carried out in 2014, accounted for production drilling (135,665 meters in 2013), and 2,628 meters - exploratory drilling.
SOCAR includes the Azneft production association (company producing oil and gas onshore and offshore) and the Azkimya production association (chemical industry) and the Azerigaz production association (gas distribution).
Together with foreign partners, SOCAR participates in major projects such as the development of the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli block of oil and gas fields and the Shah Deniz gas and condensate field in the Caspian Sea.
