Iran’s weekly liquid fuel consumption hits 888M liters

The consumption of liquid fuel in Iran over one week, from Feb. 28 to Mar. 6, hit 887 million 800 thousand liters.

The number relates to different sections, including power plants, consuming fuel oil and gas oil, SHANA news agency reported March 8.

The number shows 55 million 800 thousand liters surge compared to the previous week, when the consumption was registered at 832 million liters.

The peak consumption for gas oil was registered at 107 million 700 thousand liters on March 3, and the lowest record was 70 million on March 6.

Also, the peak consumption for fuel oil was 51 million 800 thousand liters which was registered March 2, and the lowest record was 28 million 100 thousand on March 1.

The report adds that the average consumption for the week was 91 million 714 thousand liters for gas oil and 35 million 114 thousand liters for fuel oil.

Iran's actual primary energy consumption rose significantly, despite dropping liquid fuels consumption, according to the National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company report covering the last fiscal year's energy statistics released March 3.

Iran's liquid fuel bunkering volume also reached 2.97 million tons per annum during last year. The country also swapped about 1.96 mt/a of liquid fuels during the mentioned time.
