Russia's Novorossiysk International Trade Sea Port transshipped 19.51 million metric tons of oil in January-March 2015, or 0.1 percent more than in January-March 2014 (19.49 million metric tons), Novorossiysk port said April 21.
The Novorossiysk port transshipped 8.67 million metric tons of petroleum products during the reporting period, which is 20.8 percent (1.49 million metric tons) more than in January-March 2014, according to the statement.
In total, the port transshipped 35.6 million metric tons of various cargoes in January-March 2015, which is 6 percent more than in January-March 2014.
In 2014, Novorossiysk shipped 72.78 million metric tons of oil compared to 91.74 million metric tons in 2013. The Novorossiysk port shipped 27.78 million metric tons of petroleum products during the reporting period compared to 24.2 million metric tons in 2013. Around 122.09 million metric tons of various cargo were transported in 2014 compared to around 129.48 million metric tons in 2013.
The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) ships its own oil through the Novorossiysk port. Oil is delivered to the port via the Baku-Novorossiysk oil pipeline.
