Azerbaijan's state oil company SOCAR, after conducting geological explorations, put to operational fund a new well at the 'Gunashli' field in the Caspian Sea's Azerbaijani sector, said the company August 27.
SOCAR said the well #80 was put into operation after geological and technical works were conducted from the jacket #13 at a range of 3,075-3,052 meters.
The well's daily output stands at 100,000 cubic meters of gas, according to the company.
Operational works at the well are conducted by the '28 May Oil and Gas Production Department'.
'Gunashli' field plays an important role in the oil and gas industry of Azerbaijan.
SOCAR independently develops the field's shallow water part, while its deep-water part is being developed within the 'Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli' block together with foreign partners.
In 2014, SOCAR produced over 8.32 million metric tons of oil versus 8.31 million metric tons produced in 2013.
Last year more than 42.4 million metric tons of oil was produced in Azerbaijan compared to 43.5 million metric tons produced in 2013.
