Import of Azerbaijani oil to US drops

The US imported 2.05 million barrels of oil in Jan.-July 2015, or 2.04 times less than in the same period of 2014, said the message posted on the website of the US Energy Information Administration (EIA).

The country imported 4.2 million barrels of oil from Azerbaijan in Jan.-July 2014.

In total, the US imported 8.4 million barrels of oil from the country in 2014, compared to 10.41 million barrels in 2013.

The main route for exporting Azerbaijani oil is Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline via which it is delivered to the Turkish port of Ceyhan.

Azerbaijan's light oil is also exported from Georgia's Supsa port where it is delivered via the Baku-Supsa pipeline.

Moreover, oil is exported from Georgia's Black Sea port of Batumi where it is delivered via the railway from Baku, as well as from Russian port of Novorossiysk via the Baku-Novorossiysk pipeline.
