The role of liquefied natural gas (LNG) in the global gas market will grow, according to the BP Energy Outlook 2016.

"LNG sale will grow two times faster than global consumption. LNG's share in global demand will rise from 10 percent in 2014 to 15 percent - in 2035," said the company. "By 2035, LNG import will prevail over gas imports through pipelines."

Global LNG supply will grow more than 40 percent due to the completion of implementation of several projects in the next five years, according to company.

"The US is likely to become a net exporter of gas at the end of this decade, while the dependence of Europe and China on imports of natural gas will increase even more," according to company.
