The daily maintenance costs of each offshore rig in Iran stands at about $300,000, says Heydar Bahmani, managing director of the National Iranian Drilling Company (NIDC).
He said that companies in Iran attempt to cut drilling time to economize on costs, adding that new technologies are vital for drilling works, SHANA news agency reported Apr. 1.
NIDC drilled 188 oil and gas wells during the last fiscal year that ended March 20.
The number of the NIDC-drilled wells increased by 28 year-to-year, said Hamid Bahmadi, the NIDC managing director, March 28.
Bahmadi added that the number of drilling rigs of NIDC stands at 75, including 5 offshore rigs.
