Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR will deliver about two million barrels of Azeri Light oil to two Egyptian refineries, a source in SOCAR told Trend Nov. 7.
The source said that the deliveries will be carried out under the memorandum of understanding (MoU) between SOCAR and EGPC (Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation) that was signed in the previous week.
“Under the agreement, two million barrels of Azerbaijani oil will be delivered to Egypt’s El-Nasr refinery and the Middle East Oil Refinery (Midor),” noted the source.
Currently, SOCAR delivers oil from Azerbaijan to more than 30 countries of Europe, Asia and America. Total volume of Azerbaijani oil export was 35 million tons in 2015. SOCAR’s share in the total volume of export of Azerbaijani oil was 22.1 million tons.
