BP reveals volume of expenditures for BTC pipeline

The volume of capital expenditure for the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline amounted to $41 million in January-September 2016, operating expenditure – about $87 million, according to the report on results of the three quarters of 2016 of the BP Azerbaijan company.

The BTC exported about 25.7 million tons (nearly 193 million barrels) of crude oil during the period.

In 2015, 35 million tons (262.8 million barrels) of oil were transported via the BTC.

As of Oct. 1, 2016, about 341 million tons (nearly 2.55 billion barrels) of crude oil were exported via the BTC pipeline since it became operational in June 2006.

Total length of the BТС is 1,768 kilometers, including a 443-kilometer section running through Azerbaijan, a 249-kilometer section in Georgia and a 1,076-kilometer section in Turkey. The construction of the pipeline started in April 2003. It was filled with oil May 18, 2005.
