Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR drilled 35,610 meters in January-March 2017, compared to 26,410 meters drilled in the same period of 2016, says a message published on SOCAR website Apr. 4.
Some 33,410 meters accounted for production drilling, while the rest part - exploration drilling in January-March 2017.
SOCAR has commissioned 17 new wells since early 2017.
In 2016, SOCAR drilled 105,250 meters against 104,410 meters drilled in 2015.
SOCAR includes production associations Azneft (enterprises producing oil and gas onshore and offshore), Azerikimya (chemical enterprises) and Azerigas (distributor of gas), as well as oil and gas processing plants, service companies and the facilities involved in geophysical and drilling operations.
