BP: Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline capex down

Capital expenditures on the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) oil pipeline totaled $10 million, while operating expenditures were nearly $64 million in January-June 2017, reads a BP Azerbaijan report for the first half of 2017.

Capital expenditures on BTC amounted to $26 million in January-June 2016.

In 1H2017, 17 million tons (125 million barrels) of oil were transported via the BTC.

Since June 2006 until July 1, 2017, 365 million tons (about 2.74 billion barrels) of oil were exported via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline.

Total length of the BТС is 1,768 kilometers, including a 443-kilometer section running through Azerbaijan, a 249-kilometer section in Georgia and a 1,076-kilometer section in Turkey. Construction of the pipeline started in April 2003. It was filled with oil May 18, 2005.
