Turkey keen to attract private sector for investing in energy field

Turkey is interested in attracting private sector to invest in the country’s energy sector, Turkish Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources told Trend.

The ministry said that serious work is being carried out to attract investors to the energy sector.

Currently, Turkey's priority is to develop the private energy sector, as well as the sector of renewable energy sources, according to the ministry.

It was earlier reported that the country plans to invest $11 billion in the energy sector in 2017-2023.

According to the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, $1.9 billion was invested in Turkey’s energy sector in the last two years. About 30 percent of these funds were invested in the development of renewable energy sources.
