Uzbekistan has increased its natural gas production by 0.5 percent in 2017 up to 56.417 billion cubic meters, compared to 2016, the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said in a message.
The country in 2017 reduced oil production by 6.3 percent to 806,000 tons.
Enterprises of Uzbekistan produced about 4.04 million tons of coal last year, which is 4.4 percent higher compared to 2016.
Uzbekistan reduced production of gasoline by 2.5 percent in the reporting period to 1.1 million tons. The volume of diesel fuel production fell by 4.5 percent in the reporting period to 962,900 tons.
Furthermore, over 60.09 billion kilowatt hours of electricity were generated, which is 3 percent more than in 2016.
The State Statistics Committee added that the country's enterprises produced 27.36 million Gcal of heat, which is 4.5 percent less than in 2016.
Reportedly, until 2020, Uzbekistan plans to implement 38 projects worth about $ 20.6 billion in the oil and gas industry.
Due to this, Uzbekistan expects in 2017-2021 to increase gas production by 53.5 billion billion cubic meters of gas, oil - by 1.9 million tons and gas condensate - by 1.1 million tons.
According to Uzbekneftegaz, in 1991-2016 the volume of investments in the oil and gas industry of Uzbekistan amounted to $30.7 billion, including more than $17 billion direct investments and loans.
The capacity of Uzbekneftegaz makes it possible to extract about 70 billion cubic meters of natural gas and 8 million tons of liquid hydrocarbons a year.
