Kazakh refinery exceeds oil refining plan

The Atyrau refinery in Kazakhstan exceeded the plan for oil refining by 1.6 percent in 2017, as it processed 4.723 million tons of oil.

"In 2017, with a plan of 4.650 million tons, processing at the refinery amounted to more than 4.723 million tons. The plan was overfulfilled by 1.6 percent," said the message from the refinery.

As of January 15, 2018, the Atyrau refinery processed 218,778 tons of oil, which exceeds the plan by 7,844 tons.

During the same period, 44,971 tons of diesel fuel was shipped. Also, the plan for the shipment of jet fuel TS-1 was exceeded by 112 tons (with a plan of 968 tons, 1080 tons were shipped) .

The Atyrau refinery was commissioned in September 1945. JSC KazMunaiGas - Processing and Marketing owns 99.53 percent of the share in the refinery.

In late December 2017, within the completion of the third stage of modernization, the Atyrau refinery started the pilot operations at the DRC (Deep oil refining complex).

After commissioning of the DRC, the capacity of the plant will increase from 5 to 5.5 million tons of oil per year, the production of gasoline will increase to 1.7 million tons per year, as well as diesel fuel to 1.4 million tons and aviation fuel to 244,000 tons.
