Turkmenistan prepares work plan of oil & gas complex for 2018

Turkmen Deputy Prime Minister Maksat Babayev reported on the prepared working plan of the oil and gas complex for 2018 at a government meeting, according to the Turkmenistan TV channel.

“The main technical and economic indicators - natural and associated gas production, gas exports, oil and gas condensate production, processing of hydrocarbon raw materials, and production of gasoline - were announced,” the report said.

Having approved the presented document, Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov demanded from the leadership of the fuel and energy complex to fully use all available reserves to increase the volumes of oil and gas production and processing, production of petrochemical products in demand on world markets, strengthen the oil and gas industry’s raw materials base, accelerate industrial development of new hydrocarbon deposits discovered in the country.

“The head of state ordered to intensify the work on attracting foreign investments into the industry, to keep the course of implementation of major energy projects under constant control,” the report said.

Turkmenistan, which possesses the fourth largest reserves of natural gas in the world, is one of the key players in the energy market of the Caspian region and Central Asia.

Turkmenistan’s potential hydrocarbon resources amount to 71 billion tons of oil equivalent, of which 53 billion tons account for onshore fields, 18 billion tons – offshore fields.
