The Neftqaztikinti construction trust of Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR has completed construction of a new fixed offshore platform #12 for Azerbaijan’s Bulla Deniz gas field by 49 percent, a source in SOCAR told Trend Jan. 23.
The total area of the platform will be 4,890 square meters, and its weight - 5,399 tons.
“Presently, the weight of the installed metal structures is about 2,700 tons,” the source said. “Four support blocks have already been installed, another one is planned to be installed in the near future. Construction of a helipad is underway.”
The construction of the platform is expected to be completed in April-May 2018.
SOCAR plans to build six platforms by 2025 for drilling 27 deep wells at the Bulla Deniz offshore gas field in the Caspian Sea.
Operation of the Bulla Deniz field started in 1975. More than 62 billion cubic meters of gas and 12 million tons of oil and gas condensate have been produced at the field since then.
