Dragon Oil active, investing in Turkmen sector of Caspian Sea

Dragon Oil company (UAE), exploring oilfields in the Cheleken contracted area, works in the Turkmen sector of Caspian Sea, state news agency Turkmen Dovlet Habarlary said in an analysis article on Feb. 7.

“The company invested considerable resources in the upgrade of the oil and gas infrastructure of Jeitun and Jigalybeg oilfields located near Hazar city,” the article reads.

Capital repair of old and drilling of new oil wells, construction of operational stationary sea platforms and underwater pipelines are currently carried out.

Alaja oil-loading terminal has been rebuilt from scratch. That provided for simultaneous loading of several oil ships. Oil collection point, designed for preparation, storage and shipment of stock tank oil, mechanical workshops, repairing automobile, tractor and lifting machinery and oil equipment, oil purifying station and other objects have been built.

Until 2021, Turkmen office of Dragon Oil Ltd. plans to increase the daily average oil output from sea platforms on Cheleken contracted area of Turkmen shelf of Caspian Sea to 100,000 barrels.

The announcement was made by Faisal Al Awadhi, assistant CEO Dragon Oil, during his report at “Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan – 2017” conference.
