Uzbekistan saw increase in power export in 2017 by 23.6 percent compared to 2016 and its volume amounted to 1.85 billion kilowatt hours, JSC Uzbekenergo said in a message on Feb.23.
JSC Uzbekenergo stressed that electricity in the amount of 1.2 billion kilowatt hours was imported from Kyrgyzstan in 2017.
Uzbekistan's power plants produced 60.7 billion kilowatt hours of electricity in 2017, which is more by 2.9 percent compared to 2016.
The company's power plants produced 52.1 billion kilowatt hours or 85.9 percent of the country's total power output. Consumers received 48 billion kilowatt hours of electricity.
The company realized 17 investment projects in 2017.
The company, through foreign investments, continues the implementation of projects on construction of two combined-cycle plants with a total capacity of 230-280 megawatts at the Takhiatash TPP, as well as a second combined-cycle plant with a total capacity of 450 megawatts at the Navoi TPP.
According to the company, 3,800 km of 0.4-10 kV lines were constructed and reconstructed and 1,250 complete transformer substations were installed in 2017.
Within the targeted programs for the construction of affordable housing in rural areas and cities, 386.8 km of power transmission lines and 465 complete transformer substations were installed.
