In March 2018, the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) Sea Terminal has set a new record for monthly oil shipment, the CPC press service said in a message.

The volume of oil transshipment amounted to 5,506,294 tons (43,609,021 barrels), which is almost 6 percent higher than the previous record set in December 2017 (when 5,196,229 tons of oil were transported through the CPC Sea Terminal).

The indicator of March 2018 exceeded the figure of the same period of 2017 by 11.7 percent. In March 2017 CPC tankers shipped 4,929,486 tons of oil.

The impressive growth in the CPC's core business performance was made possible due to the consortium's expansion of the Tengiz-Novorossiysk pipeline system.

In 2017 CPC completed the construction of six new oil pumping stations: A-NPS-4A and A-NPS-5A in Astrakhan region, NPS-8 in Krasnodar region, NPS-5 in Stavropol, A-NPS-3A in Kazakhstan, as well as NPC-2 in Kalmykia.

The CPC pipeline system is one of the largest investment projects with foreign capital in the energy sector in the CIS. The length of the pipeline connecting oil fields in Western Kazakhstan with the Marine Terminal in Novorossiysk is 1,511 km. CPC’s Marine Terminal is equipped with Single Point Moorings that allow to load tankers safely at a significant distance offshore.

In 2017 CPC exported 55.107 million tons of oil, which is 24.4 percent more than in 2016.
