By Huseyn Hasanov – Trend:

In 2017, Turkmenistan overfulfilled the plan on gasoline production by 1.4 percent, the Nebit-Gaz online newspaper reported.

Gasoline is produced in the country at two oil refineries in Turkmenbashi and Seydi.

“The produced volumes completely meet the needs of the domestic market, while small amounts are exported,” according to the newspaper.

Reportedly, a catalytic reforming unit has been put into operation at the Seydi oil refinery recently. The unit was designed to annually produce 412,000 tons of A-98 high-octane gasoline component. The produced A-98 high-octane gasoline component will serve as a basis for the production of A-95, A-92 and A-80 gasoline meeting Euro 5 standards.

Meanwhile, a plant for production of A-92 gasoline from natural gas is being built in Ovadandepe. The project is being implemented by a consortium of Kawasaki Heavy Industries Ltd. (Japan) and Ronesans Endustri Tesisleri Insaat Sanayi ve Ticaret A.S. (Turkey). The plant is planned to be launched in December 2018.

The plant is designed to annually produce up to 600,000 tons of A-92 gasoline, which meets Euro 5 standards.
