Lukoil reveals investment plans in Uzbekistan

Russian Lukoil is planning to invest a total of $10 billion in Uzbekistan, Uzbek media reported citing Energy Minister of Russia Aleksandr Novak, who addressed the opening ceremony of the Kandym Gas Processing complex.

The minister noted that the launch of the new enterprise is a good example of mutually beneficial interaction and fruitful cooperation. Novak thanked everyone who participated in the realization of the project and stressed that the new complex will ensure the whole region’s energy security.

“It should be noted that Lukoil has been investing to Uzbekistan’s economy for quite some time. Currently, the total investments amount to $7 billion, after the completion of the ongoing projects the figure will increase to some $10 billion,” Novak stated.

He also touched upon the joint projects with other Russian companies, such as the intergovernmental agreement on oil supply to Uzbekistan which is at its final stage.
