Turkmenistan’s Turkmenbashi Complex of Oil Refineries (TCOR) is preparing to produce biaxially oriented polypropylene film (BOPP), the "Neutral Turkmenistan" newspaper reported May 4.
A contract for construction of a unit for production of a packaging film of two types - a transparent single layer and coextruded film – was signed with Indonesian company P.T. Istana Karang Laut.
The production will start at the end of June. More than 20,000 tons of films of various types, including for packaging food and industrial products, will be annually produced from local raw materials.
Polypropylene films are also used in the textile industry and for packaging medical disposables. A significant part of the TCOR’s products is exported to Russia, Japan, Italy, Turkey, China, Iran, the UAE, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Georgia and other countries.
