Siemens considers Uzbekistan to be one of the promising markets in Central Asia and is expecting to start implementation of joint projects in the near future, the press service of the German company stated citing President of Siemens Russia and Central Asia Dietrich Moeller as saying during a meeting with Uzbek Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov
The meeting was held during the visit of the delegation of the company to Uzbekistan on May 14-17, 2018.
According to the press service, the delegation also held meetings with representatives of ministries and departments of Uzbekistan and business partners of the company.
During the meetings, the parties discussed current and future joint projects in energy, industrial and other spheres.
Moeller, commenting on the visit of the delegation to Uzbekistan, reminded that in November 2017, Siemens and Uzbekistan announced launch of a large-scale cooperation program. The parties signed agreements on technology partnership in fuel and energy sphere, in sphere of smart cities (digitalization of urban infrastructure) and health care.
“Over the past six months, we have made significant progress in the dialogue with our partners in all areas. Siemens considers Uzbekistan to be one of the promising markets in Central Asia and is expecting to start implementation of joint projects in the near future,” Moeller said.
The delegation also held a meeting with Odil Temirov, Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Uzbekneftegaz JSC. The sides discussed cooperation in fuel and energy sphere, including construction of a plant for production of synthetic liquid fuels in the Kashkadarya region.
Technologies of the concern can also be used in implementation of a booster compressor station project at the Uchkyr field in the Bukhara region.
During the visit, a protocol of intent was signed between Siemens and Uz-Kor Gas Chemical with a view to concluding a 15-year maintenance agreement for rotating equipment installed on the site of the Ustyurt gas chemical complex.
