Russian LUKOIL plans to reach the designed level of gas production in Uzbekistan in 2018, Uzbek media reported referring to the company's documents.
Director for work with capital markets, acquisition and sale of assets of LUKOIL Pavel Zhdanov noted that the company is satisfied with implementation of projects in Uzbekistan.
According to him, LUKOIL increased gas production in Uzbekistan in the 1Q2018 by more than twice compared to the 1Q2017. In the 1Q2018, the company produced up to 191,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day in Uzbekistan against 93,000 barrels per day in the 1Q2017.
Gas production in Gissar amounted to 72,000 barrels per day in the 1Q2018, in Kandym – to 119,000 barrels per day.
Zhdanov emphasized that growth of gas production in Uzbekistan is connected with the launch of new facilities in Gissar and the first stage of the Kandym gas processing complex (GIC). He added that the company has already started work on the second stage of the complex.
It was reported earlier that LUKOIL is planning to produce up to 18 billion cubic meters of gas within two projects in 2019.
