SOCAR discloses oil volume to be shipped from Ceyhan in October

About 3.25 million tons (23.8 million barrels) of Azerbaijani oil will be shipped from the Turkish port of Ceyhan in October 2018, a source in Azerbaijan’s oil and gas market told Trend Sept. 24.

According to the source, SOCAR will carry out almost 30 shipments. SOCAR will account for 2.5 million tons of oil or about 18,400 barrels. The rest will account for Exxon, Chevron, TPAO.

SOCAR will daily ship an average of 650,000-700,000 barrels of oil.

Oil from Azerbaijan’s Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli block of oil and gas fields is delivered to Turkey’s Ceyhan port via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline. Total length of BТС is 1,768 kilometers, including a 443-kilometer section running through Azerbaijan, a 249-kilometer section in Georgia and a 1,076-kilometer section in Turkey.

Condensate from Azerbaijan’s Shah Deniz gas field and oil from Turkmenistan are also shipped from Turkey’s Ceyhan port.
