Second platform of 14th block of South Pars Complex commissioned

After the platform was commissioned, 500 million cubic meters of sour gas are extracted from Iran’s South Pars gas field daily, Hamidreza Masoudi, manager of the 14th Block Development Project of the South Pars Gas Complex, told reporters in Kangan city, Tasnim news agency reported.

He said that all work in the 14th block is carried out by local experts. Moreover, 28.2 million cubic meters of gas is extracted from the two platforms of the 14th block.

Masoudi said that the 18-inch pipeline for sour gas supply has been laid. The gas was pumped from 14C to the 14A main platform through a 4.5-inch pipeline. The gas is supplied from 14A platform to Pars Industrial Plants in Kangan.

The 14th block is intended for the production of 56.6 million cubic meters of gas per day.

Moreover, 50 million cubic meters of gas are processed (amine scrubbing, gas sweetening and acid gas removal) via four platforms on this block located 105 kilometers south of Kangan.

Masoudi said that 75,000 barrels of gas condensate, 400 tons of sulphur, 1 million tons of ethane and 1 million tons of liquefied petroleum gas (propane and butane) are extracted per year.
