By Huseyn Veliyev - Trend:

The Centralized Analytical Laboratory of High Technologies Park LLC of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences will analyze the composition of gas that will be produced in the northern sector of the Caspian Sea, a source in the laboratory told Trend Nov. 12.

The source said this is done under a project for drilling two wells, which will be carried out in accordance with the agreement reached between Azerbaijan and Russia.

"This project will require testing the quality of natural gas in the laboratory. We are already taking steps in this direction, purchasing equipment, conducting training, etc. Our laboratory will be unique among the Caspian countries in terms of its technical capabilities. With such a laboratory it will not be necessary to send samples for analysis to Europe," the source said.

The source said the technical advantages of the laboratory will also be used to analyze the raw materials supplied to SOCAR Polymer LLC from the Baku Oil Refinery.

"As is known, it is necessary for the propylene gas to be clean so that the final product is ultra-pure. It is important that the resulting polymer does not contain metals and harsh chemicals so that the polymer can be used both in construction and in medicine. The technical advantages of our laboratory in this area will be presented to SOCAR Polymer," the laboratory stated.
