An important component of the Turkmen energy policy is to form routes for exporting energy resources through diversification and creation of multi-vector pipeline systems, reads a message by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to participants of the Turkmenistan International Oil & Gas Conference & Exhibition (OGT Expo 2018), the Turkmen media reported.

“Together with our partners, we have successfully implemented large-scale projects for construction of major energy bridges in the eastern and southern directions,” the Turkmen president said in his greeting message. “Their strategic importance lies in ensuring global energy security, creating a system transporting Turkmen energy resources.”

The major international projects implemented in recent years testify to formation of a new fuel and energy infrastructure on the Eurasian continent, according to the message.

Berdimuhamedov also drew attention to the fact that the construction of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline will give a powerful impetus to maintaining sustainable development and strengthening peace, as well as economic ties in the region.

Turkmenistan is carrying out significant work aimed at increasing the production and refining of oil and gas, manufacturing various oil and gas products that enjoy high demand in the global markets, reads the message.

At the same time, one of the main tasks is to rationally use rich hydrocarbon reserves, increasing the volumes of processed and export-oriented energy resources, Berdimuhamedov said in his message.

“The new projects in the oil and gas industry will contribute to an integrated industrialization of Turkmenistan’s regions, the dynamic development of the national economy, and the increase in the manufacture of products that enjoy high demand in global markets,” reads the message.
