Exports of Iran’s mining industry up by 6%

Exports of Iran’s mining industry stood at $5.81 billion in the first seven months of the current Iranian calendar year, which started March 21, 2018, or 6 percent more than in the same period last year, IRNA reported.

Iran exported 5.86 million tons of steel worth $2.78 billion, which accounts for 48 percent of Iran’s export value.

This is while copper exports worth $492 million accounted for 8 percent of exports, while cement’s share stood at 6 percent.

The export of iron ore concentrate has increased by around 14 percent in the first seven months of this year, as compared to the same period last year and brought the country $257 million worth revenues.

The value of hard coal and coke exports has increased by 346 percent as compared to the first seven months of last year and stood at $59.235 million.

As for other sectors, the export value of zinc, lead and aluminum has decreased by 24 percent, 37 percent and 40 percent.

The export value in mining industry in the first five months of the current year has exceeded $4.418 billion, or 12 percent more than in the same period last year.
