A new high-voltage power transmission line Dashoguz-Konye-Urgench is under construction in Turkmenistan’s northern Dashoguz province, Trend reports citing the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper.
The length of the new 220-kilovolt transmission line will be about 100 kilometers. Its commissioning will significantly improve the reliability of the energy supply of the Konye-Urgench district and accelerate its socio-economic development.
The work to modernize the regional energy system intensified in the Dashoguz region. The energy system is based on a major power plant equipped with two gas turbine units of General Electric.
In addition, recently, five power transmission lines have been built in the Akdepe district of the Dashoguz region alone.
A ring power system is planned to be created in order to ensure uninterrupted power supply to consumers all around Turkmenistan.
Earlier it was reported that the total volume of electricity generated in Turkmenistan by 2024 is planned to be increased to 33 billion kilowatt-hours, which is 27.2 percent more compared to the plans for 2018.
