Iran opening financial channels with oil importers
Tehran, Iran, Dec.9
The financial channels with the Iranian oil importers are gradually opening, said the governor or Iran’s Central Bank Abdol Nasser Hemmati on his Instagram account.
"Given the relative stability of the foreign exchange market, along with the Central Bank's plans to gradually strengthen the value of the national currency, now serious attention to production and economic growth should be among the main priorities of the country's economic policies,” he wrote.
Hemmati pointed out that in the current situation, the banks’ focus on securing the working capital is very important. “The urgency of reforming the banking system should not put us in the path of weakening banks, which are responsible for 90 percent of financing.”
Instead, the monetary policy must be deliberately aimed at strengthening this function, he added.
