Qatar fuel plant to prepare Uzbek specialists for GTL plant in Uzbekistan

The construction of GTL (Gas-to-liquids) plant in Uzbekistan continues at an active pace, considering that the overall progress of implementation of EPC contract exceeded 71 percent, Trend reports via Uzbek media.

Some 25 percent of construction work at the site of plant for the production of synthetic liquid fuel – GTL in Kashkadarya region has been completed.

Nowadays, metal structures, underground and above-ground pipeline networks are being installed, buildings and structures are being constructed, and work continues on the installation of incoming technological equipment at the construction site of plant.

The detailed design of the plant is at the stage of completion and is finished by 97.1 percent, placing orders, manufacturing and delivery of materials, as well as technological equipment to the construction site, is completed at more than 87 percent.

Uzbekistan GTL, alongside with Uzbekneftegaz, is actively implementing a training program for work at the future plant. More than 300 university graduates have undergone industrial training at the Shurtan Gas Chemical Complex and the Bukhara Oil Refinery and transferred to a company where they are actively involved in the design and monitoring of construction work and in preparation for the commissioning of the plant.

The company has reached an agreement with a similar Oryx GTL plant in Qatar on the training of specialists from Uzbekistan for commissioning, operation and maintenance.

About 100 specialists of the company will undergo a production internship at a plant in Qatar in 2019–2020. Oryx GTL plant is similar in its production capacity and technology to the one under construction in Uzbekistan.
