By Fakhri Vakilov - Trend:
The third gas field was discovered on the territory of Uchtepa village in Bulakbashi district in the south of Uzbek Andijan region, Trend reports via Uzbek media.
Recently, specialists of Kukon Parmalash Ishlari JSC found a natural gas field at a depth of 1,150 meters when drilling for oil and gas exploration at the Yura-1 well, in volumes of 205,000 cubic meters per day.
One oil field and two gas fields have been found there in just two years. The first gas field was discovered in 2017 as a result of exploration at a depth of 1080 meters. The gas came to the surface under a pressure of 100 atmospheres at 2300-2400 cubic meters per hour. The second gas field was found in early 2018 while drilling four more wells.
The necessary technical work is being carrying out in the third field now, after which the supply of fuel to consumers will begin. Gas produced here is supplied by the Andijan regional territorial branch of Uztransgaz.
Five gas-filling stations of the region supply population with liquefied gas. The volume of gas supplied is increasing every year. In 2017, 34,777 tons of liquefied gas were supplied, then in 2018 this figure was 42,578 tons. Moreover, liquefied gas cylinders are distributed to the public.
Meanwhile, firewood and gas cylinders remain the main way to heat appartments in other regions of Uzbekistan, where gas supply interruptions continue. In the Fergana Valley, people freeze their homes and cook food on hotplates. Officials attributed this to the accident at the Urtabulak gas field in the Bukhara region, and experts - with the savings of Uzbekneftegaz as a result of strategic oil and gas reform.
