Iran continues major excavation work at Southern Pars Gas Field

Iran has completed 100,000 meters of excavation work during the phase 14 of the South Pars Gas Field, said Hamidreza Shafei-Makvand, drilling manager of South Pars Gas Field’s phase 14, Trend reports referring to the website of the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC).

According to Shafei-Makvand, excavations have been completed in these wells.

He added that 14 wells have been merged into two SPD14-A and SPD14-C platforms and handed over to the respective owner (the name has not been revealed).

"The work remaining in 8 wells is at its final stage," he said.

Shafei-Makvand said that the excavation and development operations of the 14 wells were completed 52 days earlier than scheduled, adding that the company is fully ready to carry out excavation operations at offshore zones.

South Pars/North Dome Gas Condensate Field is jointly operated by Iran and Qatar.
