All power plants in Iran to be supplied with natural gas

The National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) has announced that, with the start of gas distribution to Chabahar and Kenarak power plants, all the country's plants would have natural gas.

Speaking on the sideline of the 24th Iran International Oil, Gas, Refining & petrochemical Exhibition, CEO of NIGC Saeed Momeni noted, "Total of 84 plants are active across the country with converted gas torches so they would no longer use liquid fuel," Trend reports citing SHANA.

He noted gas distribution to plants alongside villages are on the NIGC agenda saying, "From the total of 84 plants, only Kenarak and Chabahar plants are waiting for gas distribution."

The official indicated, "Gas distribution to Chabahar will be the first to be carried out by a contractor through CNG until Chabahar-Iranshahr gas pipeline is be completed. Therefore, the country's gas distribution plan for all the plants will be completed, while the gas supplies to newly establish plants will continue as well."
