Iran's Ilam gas refinery launches second phase

National Iranian Gas Company is to launch the second phase of Ilam Gas Treating Company in near future.

"Launch of the second phase of Ilam refinery would increase its capacity from 6.8 to 10.2 million cubic meters and increase the production by 50 percent," said Shahryar Daripour, CEO of Ilam Gas Treating Company, Trend reports citing SHANA.

He noted that the company currently produces five products including ethane, urban gas, raw natural gas liquid, gas condensate and sulfur. "Ethane, raw natural gas liquid and gas condensate, which are now sent to other enterprises, will be processed here for Ilam petrochemical sector," he said.

According to the official, more than 1.5 billion cubic meter of gas have been treated at the refinery. "The refined gas has been sent out for domestic and industrial consumption in Ilam province and other neighboring provinces during last Iranian year(started March21, 2018)," he added.

"Last year more than 1.5 million barrels of gas condensate were processed by the company, while 40,000 tons of LPG were sent to South Pars," he said.

Shahryar Daripour informed that the foreign currency revenues from sulfur exports of Ilam refinery in 2018 was more than $3 million. He noted, "Around 60,000 tons of sulfur were produced by the refinery, with 30,000 tons sent for domestic consumption and the rest exported."
