Russian State Corporation for development VEB.RF will allocate 100 million euros to finance a deal to supply Russian energy equipment to Uzbekistan, Trend reports citing RIA Novosti.

“Russian Prime Minister M Dmitry Medvedev will visit Uzbekistan, and we made several related decisions. First, it is about setting limits for nine countries including Uzbekistan, with which VEB.RF works," VEB Chairman Igor Shuvalov said.

He added that it was decided to establish a special limit in relation to the National Bank for Foreign Economic Activity of Uzbekistan with the aim of acquiring Russian energy equipment for the modernization of Uzbek power generating units.

"This is a very good deal, because it provides orders to our machine builders, and this is an export contract. So, all the decisions have been made. We expect the deal to be in the amount of about 100 million euros," he stressed.

Earlier Trend reported that in April, VEB.RF and Rosatom started to cooperate in the construction of nuclear power plants in Uzbekistan .

in October 2018, the governments of Uzbekistan and the Russian Federation concluded an agreement that provides for cooperation between the countries in the design, construction and operation of a nuclear power plant in Uzbekistan consisting of two power units based on a water-cooled power reactor with an installed capacity of each power unit up to 1.2 GW.
