Another oil refinery to be constructed in Kazakhstan

Fourth major oil refinery of Kazakhstan will be built in Terekti district of West Kazakhstan region, Trend report with reference to Kazakh media.

“The plant is to manufacture car petrol, diesel fuel, kerosene and bitumen. Currently, construction of inventory rooms and administrative building is taking place,” the report says.

“The cost of the project equals to $420 million. Karachaganak oil field will provide raw material for the refinery,” the report said.

“The construction is to be finished before the end of 2020. The output capacity of the refinery is to reach 750,000 tons a year, and the depth of refining is to be 91 percent,” reads the message.

“Furthermore, the project is aimed at both import substitution and export. Thus, some 80 percent of the manufactured product is to be sold on the local market, whereas the rest 20 percent is to be exported to CIS countries and other foreign countries," the statement says.
